The mentoring relationship is a critical part in the development of the
resident. It brings together so many positive aspects - positive role modeling,
trust and openness - that are vital for complete emotional and spiritual
healing. By regular interaction, Christian values and principles are "caught"
rather than taught, by the resident. The mentor is a representative of and link
to the local faith community for the resident.
